Joey Barton had this to say pre-match

Joey Barton says Sunderland are the 'best side' Fleetwood Town have faced at Highbury - and claims it won't be a disaster if they lose at the Stadium of Light.

“Sunderland are a top side, I think they are the best side we’ve played here.

“We struggled to break them down in both games but it’s a free game for us.

“We’ve taken 15 points out of 15, and even if we lose at Sunderland it isn’t the end of the world.”

Phil Parkinson's pre-match message

"We are really looking forward to this evening because Fleetwood are also on a good run and like us they are up there challenging heading into the final stages of the season."

Jordan Willis has been in superb form heading into tonight's game

"It all comes down to the hard work we have put in on the training pitch. We have worked on a lot of areas since the gaffer came in and it is really starting to show - hopefully that can continue.

"Everyone knows their roles and even more importantly the lads know what their team-mates should be doing. That allows us to play freely and be organised throughout."
