Sunderland took on Club de Futbol Pacheca early today in their second game of their North American tour.
And though the game didn’t end how they would have liked - they lost 3-1 - the Black Cats fans present won’t forget their visit in a hurry.
The Bonney Field Stadium in Sacramento is a million miles away from your typical Premier League ground, but the travelling fans and ex-pats alike wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
Freelance photographer David Mackie, who took these pictures, said: “It’s a surreal setting, with a funfair and monorail surrounding the pitch.”
The Sunderland supporters present in the sparse crowd also got their first look at the new all-green away strip.
