SIXTH League One club calls off game after Covid-19 case

Hull City have become the SIXTH League One club to postpone a fixture after a Covid-19 positive test.

Hull were due to play Lincoln City on December 29, but the EFL confirmed this morning that the fixture has been postponed.

An EFL spokesperson said: "The club informed the EFL that they would be unable to fulfil the fixtures following recent positive Covid-19 tests and the requirement for players and staff to self-isolate as per EFL and government guidance in order to mitigate against the risk of further infection.

"The circumstances surrounding the postponements will now be the subject of an investigation in accordance with EFL regulations.

"Revised dates for the rearranged fixtures will be confirmed in due course."

Sunderland, Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers, Ipswich Town and Peterborough United have all postponed fixtures in the past week.

Sunderland have closed the Academy of Light training ground and they are not back in action until Accrington Stanley away on December 29.

As reported, there has been 13 positive cases at Sunderland.
