Sunderland manager Simon Grayson is hopeful of having Lamine Kone and Aidan McGeady back for tomorrow's game against Hull City.
But striker Lewis Grabban will definitely miss the clash with a hamstring injury.
Sunderland are still waiting on the scan results of Grabban's injury, picked up in midweek against Nottingham Forest, but expect the forward to be out for several weeks.
Kone and McGeady both missed the Forest defeat and are expected to return to training today and will be assessed ahead of the trip to Hull, Grayson revealed at his pre-match media briefing.
John O'Shea also sat out the game on Tuesday night with a calf problem, and won't be fit tomorrow.
