Second Sunderland player set for January exit as Aberdeen close in on Dylan McGeouch deal
Dylan McGeouch is set to sign for Aberdeen.
The two clubs have agreed a deal and the transfer could be confirmed later today, with McGeouch bringing an unsuccessful 18-month spell on Wearside to an end.
McGeouch is understood to be travelling to Aberdeen to undergo a medical and confirm the final details of the move.
The Scotland international has barely featured under Phil Parkinson since he replaced Jack Ross in the Sunderland dugout, McGeouch has missed the festive period with a calf injury.
He will become the second Sunderland player to leave this window after Laurens De Bock’s loan spell from Leeds United was cut short, with the left-back keen to move back home to Belgium.
Sunderland are expected to be busy this month and news of McGeouch’s departure comes after a transfer meeting between Parkinson, owner Stewart Donald and the club’s recruitment team on Monday.
Sunderland are aiming to sign up to five new players this month.
