SUNDERLAND’s attendance of 45,369 for the game against Liverpool on Saturday was the biggest at any game of football in Britain that day.
With the game also being shown live on television, it demonstrated the huge core support Sunderland have, and the loyalty the fans are showing to a team currently only three points off bottom spot.
Sunderland’s home form this season has been abysmal, with just one solitary win in the Premier League against Stoke, yet the fans keeping turning up, with every single Premier League attendance being over the 40,000 mark at the Stadium of Light so far this season.
There are not many clubs in Sunderland’s position that could get anywhere near those sort of numbers, and it’s something every Sunderland fan should be proud of. I know I am.
