A brilliant late free-kick from Ethan Robson gave Sunderland Under-23s a 3-2 win against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
Two George Honeyman goals, one from the spot, had earlier pulled Sunderland back from behind twice.
And with three minutes left, Robson’s superb curling effort sealed the victory.
Sunderland almost took the lead on 12 minutes when Carl Lawson dragged an effort just wide of the mark on 12 minutes.
Leicester went ahead with Bartosz Kapustka converting a loose ball from a narrow angle after Cats keeper Max Stryjek had tipped Matty James’ effort onto the post.
The lead lasted just four minutes though, with Honeyman scoring from the spot after he was brought down in the area.
Admiral Muskwe put the hosts back in front early on in the second period, only for Honeyman to level again on the hour.
The game was heading for a stalemate when Robson made his impact, blasting home a stunning free-kick from 25 yards.
