Christmas will be a little different for everyone this year so we teamed up with Sunderland favourites Gary Bennett and Stephen Elliott to spread a little festive cheer via a Roar podcast special.

We held our Xmas party via Zoom - complete with a number of Sunderland supporters – to discuss the big talking points at the Stadium of Light including Phil Parkinson’s sacking, the takeover situation plus memories of Bennett and Elliott’s playing days on Wearside.

The team also reveal their hopes for 2021 when it comes to Sunderland.

Christmas jumpers, party hats and festive cheer were the order of the night as our panel took questions on a wide-range of subjects over the course of the hour-long podcast special.

The Echo’s Phil Smith, Richard Mennear and Mark Donnelly were joined by Echo readers and Sunderland fans Carl Macar, nine-year-old George and his dad Paul Henderson and father and son Dean and Liam Huntley.
