Revealed: The Sunderland youngsters who caught the eye of Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Lee Johnson at Crystal Palace

Sunderland’s under-23 side were beaten on penalties by Crystal Palace to miss out on promotion – but a number of players took the opportunity to impress the watching Lee Johnson.

The Sunderland head coach was in the stands at Selhurst Park alongside owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, sporting director Kristjaan Speakman and a number of other club staff, and they will no doubt have been impressed with the performances of several youngsters in the play-off clash.

After a 0-0 draw against the Eagles over 120 minutes, the Black Cats came undone on penalties to miss out on promotion, but put in a performance full of pride and passion in South London.
