Sunderland will face boss Gus Poyet’s former club, Chelsea, in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup – if they get past Southampton in next Wednesday’s delayed fourth-round tie.
Sunderland, who have been drawn at home in each of the last three rounds, will be at home again in the last eight tie, if they beat Saints.
Tottenham will host West Ham after ex-Sunderland midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady’s penalty was saved in the shoot-out as they beat Steve Bruce’s Hull 8-7 on penalties.
