What's the latest Sunderland AFC injury news?

Chris Maguire could feature for Sunderland today

Phil Parkinson expects Chris Maguire to be fit for the clash with Oxford United this weekend, and hopes that Joel Lynch could return to full training next week.

Maguire came off midway through the second half of the 3-0 win over Rochdale on Tuesday night, having played a part in all three goals.

The attacking midfielder looked to be in pain but afterwards assistant Steve Parkin said it appeared to be nothing major.

Parkinson echoed that and said the 31-year-old looked to be much better when he returned to the Academy of Light on Wednesday.

Weather warning in place, but will the game fall victim?

Storm Dennis is set to hit Oxford around Noon, with two yellow weather warnings in place for rain and wind.

But as of yet, there has been no talk that the game may be in doubt.

One League One game has already fallen victim to the weather, with Rochdale's clash with Tranmere postponed.

Wet and windy but the pitch is playable. KO is 3pm

All eyes on the officials

Today's referee is Kevin Johnson, game is going ahead here at the Kassam Stadium. Wind is due to be up around 52MPH come KO here with heavy rain too. All set up for a classic.

The Sunderland squad has arrived

Chris Maguire is here, he was out having a chat with Phil Parkinson

The Sunderland boss was also seen having one-to-one chats with Denver Hume and Tom Flanagan - safe to assume those two will be starting. Confirmed team news in 20.
