The Black Cats are looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Plymouth Argyle, and could draw level on points with sixth-placed Charlton Athletic with a win.

Johnson has opted to bring Max Power back into the starting XI at right-back ahead of Dion Sanderson, while Grant Leadbitter returns to the side ahead of January signing Carl Winchester.
