Sunderland are yet to make an approach to relegated Burnley for manager Sean Dyche.
Dyche is the bookies favourite to be the next Sunderland head coach, as the Black Cats consider their options to replace the departed Dick Advocaat.
It is understood that Dyche is someone who is admired by Sunderland’s hierarchy and he was in the running for the job prior to Gus Poyet’s appointment in October 2013.
However, the 43-year-old is thought to be a one of a number of possibilities being considered by the club.
But reports in Lancashire today have indicated that there has been no contact between Sunderland and Burnley over Dyche.
