“He's done ever so well, I'm pleased for him,” Warnock said.

“I’m not sure what we can do regarding signings but he wanted to get fit and it's been a good opportunity for him.

“He's done really well. It's still ongoing.

“I don't know whether we can make a signing.

“I would like him [if we could get him].”

Middlesbrough have made a strong start to their Championship season, and moved into the play-off places on Saturday afternoon.

Marvin Johnson’s late winner secured a 1-0 win at the Riverside over Chris Hughton’s Nottingham Forest.
