Former Sunderland midfielder Ola Toivonen has joined French side Toulouse on a three-year contract.
Toivonen's loan spell at the Stadium of Light came to a conclusion at the end of last season and there was no prospect of Sunderland keeping him on a permanent basis after an underwhelming year with the Black Cats.
But the Swedish international's parent club Rennes were equally keen to shift Toivonen, due to his lofty wages.
Rennes have now managed to offload the 30-year-old on a permanent basis after he has joined fellow French side Toulouse.
Toivonen made just nine Premier League starts for Sunderland and didn't feature under Sam Allardyce after February's win over Manchester United.
