Manchester City ace Yaya Toure has called on his teammates to bounce back quickly from their defeat at Arsenal, with Sunderland next to face City.

Sam Allardyce takes his struggling Black Cats side to the Etihad Stadium on Boxing Day, with City looking to get their title ambitions back on track.

City were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal on Monday night but Toure felt the Blues were a little unlucky not to take a draw after a second half revival.

"The team played very well, to be honest. It's not easy to come to the Emirates and play like that," said Toure.

"The lads have played very well and kept going until the last ball – and don't forget Arsenal are a good team.

"It's not easy to go there and try to control the game, and we have been unlucky in the end.

"At the end we had a couple of chances to draw but we ended up losing.

"Now what we have to do is try to bounce back on Saturday and get back on track."

Arsenal's win has seen them installed as favourites to lift the trophy in May, with Chelsea and Manchester United both seemingly out of the title race.

Toure, though, insists it is far too early to make predictions like that.

"It is not finished," he said.

"We are still in the first half of the league season, and have a couple of games coming up.

"I have full confidence in this team – especially when we have all the players back fit.

"We have players coming back on Boxing Day and they will try to make a difference."
