Luton Town v Sunderland - live updates

The view from the opposition

Luton Town's injury worries

Keep a close eye when Luton Town announce their team tonight. Rob Edwards was forced to bring four players off due to injury on Saturday, though he is hopeful that three will be fit to play tonight.

His biggest concern is in central defence, where Tom Holmes and Reece Burke were two of those forced off. If they don’t make it, he’ll be down to just one senior central defender. Given Luton play a 3-5-2 system, that will be far from ideal.

Sunderland team news - what to expect

Regis Le Bris confirmed yesterday that neither Dan Ballard or Eliezer Mayenda were fully recovered from recent injuries - so don’t be surprised if he names an unchanged squad. There may be one or two changes to the XI as he guards against Le Bris, but don’t expect wholesale changes.

Evening all. How are we?

Welcome along to our live coverage of Sunderland’s trip to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town. It’s the first time the two have met since that agonising play-off semi final defeat for the Black Cats, and though it’s not been easy campaign so far for Luton this is a major test of Sunderland’s credentials. Stay tuned for live updates, with team news expected in around half an hour.
