SUNDERLAND reporter Chris Young gives his verdict after the Black Cats extended their unbeaten run to three games with a 0-0 draw at Leicester City.

Pantilimon 7 - A first Premier League clean sheet in red and white won’t be overlooked by the Romanian, who continues to look solid and made a couple of smart saves.

Vergini 7 - Was exposed by Schlupp on a couple of occasions early on, but was then decent defensively and got forward well.

O’SHEA 8 - Marshalled the back-line superbly, handled the power of Ulloa and wasn’t flustered by Vardy’s constant pressing.

Brown 6 - Got away with an awful first touch which put Vardy in on goal in the first half and then sold too easily by Mahrez’s dummy for a chance wasted by the Leicester man after the break.

Reveillere 6 - Produced one excellent block to send Mahrez’s shot behind, but failed to offer a threat on the overlap.

Cattermole 7 - Briefly a heart-in-the-mouth moment when he lunged in on Cambiasso, but only received a yellow, and played a couple of nice raking passes on his return from suspension.

Larsson 6 - Got into the box regularly and saw a half-volley brilliantly blocked by Morgan. (Bridcutt 6 - Shored up the ship, but didn’t help Sunderland in their efforts to crank up the pressure during the finale).

Gomez 6 - Wasted a few promising openings, but had a hand in Sunderland’s best chance of the game which saw Schmeicel keep out Fletcher’s shot.

Johnson 7 - Set up Fletcher for his first half chance and then went desperately close himself with an awkward long-range effort.

Wickham 7 - Linked up well with Fletcher and interchanged positions effectively with the Scot. Growing into the left-sided forward role.

Fletcher 7 - Denied by a stunning save from Schmeicel and part of a front three which looked dangerous, yet just couldn’t make the crucial breakthrough.

LEICESTER: Schmeicel 8, De Laet 5, Morgan 7, Wasilewski, 7, Konchesky 6, Schlupp 6 (Knockaert 6), James 7, Cambiasso 7, Mahrez 7, Vardy 6 (Nugent 5), Ulloa 6.
