The 26-year-old has swapped QPR for Wearside to become Parkinson’s third signing of the window, and fans have offered a positive response to his capture.

And plenty were left pleased after his first interview with the club, during which he expressed his love for the physical side of the game – drawing comparisons to former fan favourite Lee Cattermole.
