ETHAN ROBSON (GRIMSBY TOWN)

Robson’s loan at Grimsby is set to expire in the coming days – and he sent Phil Parkinson a strong message with another standout performance for the Mariners.

With new manager Ian Holloway watching from the stands, Robson dictated the play in the centre of the park as Grimsby ran out 1-0 winners against Salford City, thanks to Ahkeem Rose’s late strike.

It remains unclear what the future holds for Robson, but he did his chances of a Sunderland recall no harm with another fine display.

JORDAN HUNTER (SOUTH SHIELDS)

Shields also left it late to beat Scarborough – with Hunter playing a key role in the 2-1 win.

It was his fine cross that allowed Jason Gilchrist to level for the Mariners, who had fallen behind to their rivals in the first half.

And Gilchrist then netted a late spot kick to help Shields and Hunter to a vital three points.

JACK DIAMOND (HARROGATE TOWN)

A regular in the Harrogate side in recent weeks, Diamond held on to his starting spot as Simon Weaver’s side headed to Hartlepool United.

It was another player with Sunderland links who sealed the win for Harrogate as Jon Stead netted late on to secure a 1-0 win.

JACK BALDWIN (SALFORD CITY)

Baldwin remains sidelined with injury – and didn’t feature for the Ammies at Grimsby.
