Charlie Wyke’s fine volley secured a point for the Black Cats after Matty Virtue’s opener, handing Sunderland a vital point against the play-off chasing Seasiders.

And while some were left impressed with a ‘much better’ performance, other supporters were disappointed with some of the key calls made by Parkinson.

Here’s what was said on social media after the stalemate:

@Ian_Crow3 said: “Stil awful but better than the last few weeks. Wyke has been a good outlet and did well for his goal. Defensively scary and could have been behind, but I'll take it after past few weeks”

@IanCham46024431 posted: “Absolutely garbage”

@sandancer18 commented: “Parkinson’s holding his own here, much better lads keep it up”

@gordonfarhaway tweeted: “Let me tell you a draw for us is no good what so ever”

@jburt13_ added: “Grigg on for Watmore. Spineless from Parkinson. Totally spineless”

On George Dobson’s red card, @mrpetercrumb said: “our so called fans can't wait to criticise Dobson on what looked like a poor call from the referee.”

@Jasonbrahhhh added: “Took a target man off when down to ten expecting to defend... Doesnt make sense to me.”

@SeaWeasil tweeted: “If it wasn’t for bad luck #SAFC wouldn’t have any luck. First game in weeks where we’ve looked dangerous and the reffing decisions have been mind boggling.”

@Jim_Holmes_101 commented: “Referee has been atrocious today, for both sides. Blackpool must feel equally frustrated”
