Kyril Louis-Dreyfus sends a teasing Instagram message as Sunderland takeover deal nears
Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is closing-in on a deal to purchase a majority stake in Sunderland AFC - and has sent a teasing message to supporters on Instagram.
The 23-year-old – whose family are worth upwards of $6billion – has been on Wearside this week as a deal nears completion.
Louis-Dreyfus was at the Academy of Light on Thursday having attended the Black Cats’ fixture at Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday evening.
And with a deal now tantalisingly close, Louis-Dreyfus has fuelled the flames of optimism by taking to Instagram and posting a photo of the Mackem Dictionary – a popular book produced in association with fanzine A Love Supreme.
The post has naturally got Sunderland fans excited and has raised hopes a deal could be around the corner.
Speaking about the takeover yesterday, head coach Lee Johnson said: “I'm very, very confident in his motives.
"I'm very confident in his ideas, he's bright, intelligent and he's got good ideas.
"Obviously he's got experience as well, and it reminds me a bit of myself in terms of my dad being a manager, and having the front-row seat as I grew up.
"He's had that with his family and their ownership of Olympique de Marseille and Club Brugge.
"Every contact I've had with Kyril impresses me more and more.
"He's got a sound board behind him depending on how the shake up works, in terms of experience of what's gone well and what hasn't gone well.
"When I came to the club I really believed that we needed to be brave.”
