The 21-year-old teamed-up with the Seasiders on Deadline Day and was thrown straight into the side by manager Neil Critchley, starting against Ipswich Town.

But it wasn't to be a dream debut for Embleton, as Blackpool suffered a 2-0 defeat in East Anglia – as goals from Alan Judge and Luke Woolfenden secured a vital victory for the Tractor Boys.

Embleton did, however, rack-up some valuable game time as he featured for 82 minutes before being replaced by Bez Lubala.

Sunderland’s other loanee in action, George Dobson, enjoyed a better afternoon as his AFC Wimbledon side ran-out 3-2 winners against Wigan Athletic.

Dobson played 90 minutes for the managerless Dons, who came out on top thanks to Joe Pigott’s brace and a strike from Jack Rudoni. Curtis Tilt and Jamie Proctor netted for the Latics.
