Ex-Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat is back in club football after taking up an advisory role with Dutch side ADO Den Haag.

And Advocaat's former Sunderland assistant, Zeljko Petrovic, is expected to follow Advocaat by becoming the club's new head coach.

Advocaat - who resigned as Sunderland manager last October - has been working as the Holland national team's assistant boss, but he will combine those duties with a position as technical advisor to Den Haag.

One of the 68-year-old's first pieces of counselling has been to install Petrovic in the dug-out after they worked together at the Stadium of Light and for the Serbian national team.

Petrovic - who previously had spells in charge of Boavista and RKC Waalwijk - wanted to become a head coach again after ending his spell as Advocaat's number two.

The former Yugoslavian international is due to be unveiled by Den Haag today.
