Swansea City have reportedly opened talks over signing former Sunderland loanee Jimmy Dunne on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a half-season loan at the Stadium of Light in 2019 before going on to do similar at League One rivals Fleetwood Town.

Dunne, after scoring on his Premier League debut for Burnley last season, was offered a new contract at Turf Moor but is set to depart in order to gain regular first-team football.

Preston North End were linked with the 23-year-old Irishman but according to Football Insider, Swansea have made the first move.

Portsmouth closing in goalkeeper signing

Portsmouth are set to announce the signing of goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu on a season-long deal from Manchester City.

Still only 19-years-old, an impressive loan spell at Rochdale last term earned Bazunu his first senior Republic of Ireland cap – the youngest ever player to do so.

Danny Cowley’s side, who are expected to be challenging for promotion alongside Sunderland, have already brought Clark Robertson and Shaun Williams to Fratton Park this week.

And as per our sister title Portsmouth News, Bazunu will become the south coast club’s latest recruit when he hopefully meets his new teammates on Monday.
