SUNDERLAND have finally sealed the signing of striker Steven Fletcher from Wolverhampton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year old becomes Martin O’Neill’s third signing of the summer after agreeing a four-year deal on Wearside.

Fletcher began his career with Hibs before making the move to the Barclays Premier League, where he became Burnley FC’s record signing in 2009, scoring 12 times in his first season in English football.

The 6’1” striker made his move to Molineux in 2010, where he netted 25 goals over two seasons for Wolves.

Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill said: “It has been no secret that we needed to strengthen our attacking options and Steven has a proven track record of scoring goals.

“He is young and constantly improving and he will be a very welcome addition to the squad. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring him to Sunderland.”
