Sunderland will not be making another move for Southampton defender Jake Vokins, according to reports.

The full-back struggled for opportunities during his spell on Wearside, with a brush with COVID-19 leaving him sidelined for an extended period.

Vokins is set to leave St Mary’s on loan once again this summer – but Hampshire Live say that the Black Cats will not be his destination.

Instead, the youngster has a plethora of options in the EFL and one offer from the Scottish top flight too.

Sunderland are keen on strengthening their full-back options this summer with Denver Hume and Luke O’Nien still weighing-up their contract offers.

Phil Parkinson linked with shock managerial return

Former Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson is the favourite to land the vacant Wrexham job.

Parkinson’s odds have tumbled to 1 / 4 to take charge at the Racecourse Ground, with the club’s Hollywood-based owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds seeking a replacement for Dean Keates.

The Dragons are set to be the subject of a fly-on-the-wall documentary following the duo’s takeover – and Parkinson could yet take a starring role if he is appointed by the National League side.
