ELLIS Short has some mighty big shoes to fill taking over as Chairman.
On the plus side, he’s obviously a very astute businessman and I truly believe he has big ambitions for the club.
Also, we couldn’t have asked for him to learn about Sunderland AFC or even football from anyone better.
Niall Quinn is the best thing that’s happened to Sunderland in my lifetime, and from a business point of view in the modern era of football, possibly ever and I’ll be forever grateful.
Hopefully, he’ll be at the club a long time yet, but I’m not sure this will be the case.
Another easy game this weekend to get our season on track with, I think not.
Perhaps we are catching Arsenal at a decent time but that’s not saying a lot.
Wenger is a brilliant manager, his football policy in terms of style is outstanding.
His big downfall was his stubbornness not to spend big on a couple of world class players.
They’re still a class outfit though and we won’t find it easy with only a couple of unproven, youthful strikers to choose from to lead the line.
I’ll have all my fingers crossed and go for a draw.
Prediction: Arsenal 1 Sunderland 1
