Echo Jury: Stuart Hall looks back at yet another Sunderland draw

Have your say

THAT’S at least two positives we can all take from Saturday’s game – we managed to score and Craig Gordon played his first game for the lads in a long time.

I thought Gordon looked assured and confident all game. His distribution was superb and for me he’s the best keeper at the club and we need to tempt him with a good deal to stay, if he can prove he can stay fit.

Six weeks ago we’d have beaten Bolton at home, but as I’ve said before, the lads are playing as if many of them know they’ll be elsewhere come August.

O’Neill brought Catts and Campbell back into the side and unfortunately for Campbell, he was guilty of not closing down for both goals as well as picking up an injury.

Davies, who we allegedly tried to sign in January, proved a nemesis lumbering around the pitch and took both his goals well, as did Bendtner and McClean.

McClean scored a great free-kick which struck the underside of the bar before going in.

I think we probably did enough for all three points, but Bolton battled hard as they still have plenty to play for.

Fulham next Sunday will be anything but easy. MoM – Gordon, for starting.
