Echo Jury: Our panel of fans are again frustrated by a lack of consistency from Sunderland

A POINT was probably a fair result, but these are the matches we should be winning, writes Jack Shields.

In the first half, we were too cautious and didn’t commit enough men forward when attacking. Fletcher was battling on his own against Hangeland and Senderos – two big defenders – and was struggling.

Graham was ineffective again. He won the penalty but still looks out-of-shape and not sharp enough. His lack of any kind of speed is also a worry.

I feel like a broken record here, but Gardner and Colback will never ever be full-backs. Gardner again giving away a penalty proves it.

O’Neill should either play them in their right position, or not at all.

The overall level of the squad isn’t great and the likes of Colback, Larsson and one or two others aren’t good enough. We won’t progress fully until we add more quality to the squad.

Sessegnon is by far the best quality player we have and when he is on form, we play better.

The spirit we showed at 2-0 down was pleasing, but it’s happened too many times this season. We wait until we are goals behind before attacking the opposition.

Anyone thinking QPR will be an easy win. better think again.
