Echo Jury: Michael Glancy is confident that Sunderland will come through Sunday’s Posh trip

Have your say

AFTER the hectic Christmas period, it’s a chance now for a few of our squad players and young players to try to get in the first team. It’s also the chance to rest a few of our more senior players, as we don’t want any more injuries.

Peterborough are a very attacking team, who score a lot of goals and let a few in as well. This should present an opportunity to the likes of Ji, Noble and Wickham to score some goals against a lower league defence.

I think O’Neill will play Meyler as well. He looked good when he came on at Wigan. He’s been very unlucky with injuries, but looked a calming influence at the DW stadium and will hopefully play here.

Fraizer Campbell is another who could be involved after a long injury lay-off. He could be very useful for us, as we’ve been missing a striker who plays on the shoulder of the last defender and uses his pace.

A cup run would be nice, but after the way we started the season and the rebuilding job that O’Neill has to do, I’m not expecting miracles just yet. I am expecting a win here, though.

Prediction: P’boro 2 Sunderland 3.
