Echo Jury: Kieran Kirby is wishing new boss Martin O’Neill well for his first game in charge

Have your say

THE beginning of a new era.

I hope Martin O’Neill is backed by a 40.000+ crowd and has a vocal backing throughout the game. There is a definite belief that Mr O’Neill is the right man for the job.

I must admit that I’m over the moon we have a manager of his calibre at the club, his passion and positivity will be like a breath of fresh air.

I hope we see him bouncing around celebrating a few goals on Sunday. Blackburn have been as poor as us this season and Steve Kean is under massive pressure despite last week’s win over Swansea.

It will be interesting to see what side and formation O’Neill picks. We’ll be with out Cattermole as he’s suspended which is a shame as I feel he’s been our best central midfielder recently.

Bendtner is another doubt with a groin injury. It shows how weak we are up front when we’re worried about the frustratingly laid-back Bendtner. He was terrible last week at Wolves. I think we’ll win this weekend and play with a lot of passion. Ha’way The Lads!

Prediction: Sunderland 2 Blackburn 0
