THE first of two games in three days. We welcome, in my opinion, the best side to watch in the country to Wearside.
Spurs have some top-class players with great pace, technique and vision. Bale, Modric, van der Vaart and Adebayor are outstanding players.
Bale has been playing in a role that allows him to drift about the pitch, but it doesn’t suit his game, in my humble opinion. He’s better out wide, attacking from the wings and using his unbelievable pace.
An interesting battle, injuries permitting, will be Cattermole up against Scott Parker. I’m probably in the minority as I think Parker is a tad over-rated. Cattermole should hold no fear playing against anyone – he’s in fanatastic form.
Kilgallon is fit after coming off against City last week, which is good news, as is the possible return of Wes Brown.
O’Neill will have a decision to make at left-back as Colback performed very well there last week and he has Richardson and Bridge available. I’d play Richardson, with Colback replacing Gardner in central midfield. I fancy us to sneak this in an entertaining game.
Prediction: Sunderland 2 Spurs 1.
