QPR caretaker Chris Ramsey was proud of the Londoners’ victory over Sunderland, believing that it all looked good from the warm-up.

He said: “The warm-up before the game is an important part of your preparation and I was really pleased with the attitude of the boys during it.

“It showed with the way we started the game – because they were clearly all ready.

“Regardless of what the result might have been, I knew they were going to put their bodies on the line.

“Rob Green had such a good game, as did Rio (Ferdinand) and Steven (Caulker).

“We got lucky with a few chances that went their way, but on the other hand we created plenty ourselves.

“Michael (Doughty) came on, a player with no Premier League experience, and I had no hesitation in putting him on. He more than held his own.”
