Sunderland fans have called for youngster Anthony Patterson to be handed a chance next season – after he signed a new deal on Wearside.
The goalkeeper has penned a new two-year contract at the Stadium of Light, with the option of a further year.
Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman says that Patterson will come back and form part of the club’s first-team cohort in pre-season, with Lee Burge the only other senior goalkeeper currently on the club’s books.
And having caught the eye in Premier League 2, fans are keen to see the 21-year-old handed a chance this term.
