David Moyes has confirmed that assistant manager Paul Bracewell and first-team coach Robbie Stockdale WILL stay at the Stadium of Light.

Moyes’ arrival prompted question marks over whether the Scot would bring in his own backroom team after changing the entire coaching staff when he moved to Manchester United from Everton three years ago.

But Moyes allowed both Bracewell and Stockdale to oversee much of Sunderland’s training regime when the Black Cats were in France last week and he is eager to maintain some stability at the club.

“My plan is to keep both Paul Bracewell and Robbie Stockdale,” said Moyes.

“I will make changes in some areas but ideally I’m going to try to carry on.

“These people helped the team stay up last year so I’ll work with them.

“I don’t want to disrupt anything because this club has had too many disruptions in the past.

“Let’s see if we can get a wee bit of continuity, and if we can get that level of stability that allows us to progress because that will be the most important thing.”
