Sunderland took the lead in the first half thanks to Wyke’s cool sidefooted pass into the net, before Maguire added a second from the penalty spot in the second half.

There was an injury concern for the Black Cats, however, Jordan Willis going off injured with an ankle injury to add to Sunderland’s defensive injury list.
