Sunderland have been drawn away to Wolves in the knockout stages of the Checkatrade Trophy.

The Black Cats reached the last 32 after beating Notts County 2-1 at the Stadium of Light last night in the final group game to finish as runners-up.

The top two from each group qualified for the knockout stages.

Robbie Stockdale will take his Sunderland Under-21 side to Wolves in the week commencing December 5.

The competition was previously known as the Johnstone Paint Trophy.

It was revamped in the summer with 16 teams with Academy 1 status from the Premier League and Championship invited to enter.
