McGeady will now be available for the remaining nine games Charlton have to play, kicking off with today’s trip to Hull City, with football to resume following a three-month suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.

McGeady fell out of favour under Phil Parkinson and he still has a year left on his current Sunderland deal at the Stadium of Light though it seems certain he will move on this summer.

Director of Football, Steve Gallen, said: "It has been a surreal few months with a lot of challenges but I'm very pleased we've been able to get everything sorted ahead of tomorrow's restart. The squad is looking good and the players are excited to be getting back on the pitch."
