Sunderland are one of a number of clubs to have been linked with a move for forward Viv Solomon-Otabor.

The winger is expected to turn down the offer of fresh terms at Wigan Athletic and move elsewhere, with some reports suggesting that the Black Cats were in pole position to land his signature.

However, any potential move for the wideman could yet be hijacked by Charlton - with South London Press confirming that Solomon-Otabor features on the club’s list of potential transfer targets.

The Addicks were understood to be interested in the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.

Sunderland readying follow-up bid for defender target

The race for Dion Sanderson is hotting-up, with Championship side Sheffield United reportedly confident that they can strike a deal to lure the defender to South Yorkshire.

But Sunderland remain interested, after reports earlier this week suggested that the Black Cats had seen an initial bid of around £1million rejected.

And The Sheffield Star claim that Sunderland are ‘expected to increase their bid over the weekend’ amid the second tier interest.
