So, did you see us on the TV?

Last week we travelled to Liverpool to play our first FA Women’s Super League game.

We met up early on Wednesday afternoon to get the bus to the game, everyone was very upbeat and very excited about the match.

It was especially exciting because it was the first game in a new league for us and it was live on BT Sport so our friends and family could watch.

It was a great start for us as we won the game 2-1, Beth Mead scoring a header and then being brought down for a penalty which Brooke Chaplen smashed into the net.

We were disciplined and stuck to our game plan to come away with a very important three points!

It has been fantastic how many people have got in touch with us to say that they watched it and that they enjoyed the game. Even better is the amount of people who are now interested in coming to our game this week against Manchester City.

Manchester City have strengthened considerably during the close season so we will be in for a very tough game, just like every game in this league will be!

Our performance last week was a great start but we aren’t getting carried away. We are obviously very early into the season and hopefully we can continue to play well and pick up points on the way.

If you can get along to any of our games we would appreciate the support so much!

We play our home games at the Hetton Centre in Hetton-le-Hole so if you can bring friends and family and come and support the girls!

Our next games are Manchester City (1 April), Bristol Academy (18 April) and Birmingham City (9 May), all 6.30pm kick offs.
