A RED CARD for Titus Bramble marred the final game of Sunderland’s pre-season tour as the Black Cats played out a goalless draw with Borussia Monchengladbach today.
Bramble was handed his marching orders after picking up two yellow cards from over-zealous referee Christian Bandurski – ruling the centre-half out of Wednesday’s pre-season friendly with Kilmarnock.
The Bundesliga outfit had the bulk of the chances, but lacked accuracy on their finishing, with Black Cats keeper Simon Mignolet never seriously called into question.
Connor Wickham had the best opportunity for Sunderland as he dribbled a shot just past the post after good work from lively strike partner Ji Dong-won in the first half.
It meant Sunderland finished their three-game tour of Germany without a win after draws with Monchengladbach and Arminia Bielefeld along with a defeat to Hannover 96.
