It was a season of highs and lows with a series of high profile off-the-field issues including Adam Johnson's sacking and conviction plus the resignation of former chief executive Margaret Byrne, threatening to overshadow the entire campaign.
But Sunderland managed to regroup and pull off another great escape.
Dick Advocaat started the season in charge after leading the side to safety last year but he departed in October, with Big Sam Allardyce taking his place in the Sunderland dugout.

We want to hear from you on a wide range of issues including what needs to be done going forward for Sunderland.
