Andrew Dipper shares his thought’s on the Sunderland v West Brom game

Have your say

Remember the 4-0 win over Bolton last season? It was the match that ended an awful run of form under Steve Bruce and it also got Sunderland’s season back on track. Tomorrow’s game against West Brom offers similar possibilities – only without Darren Bent this time.

I’ve been pondering his departure recently, and though he’s now widely hated by most of our supporters, I think the signs are that Sunderland are missing his goals.

They’ve played some really good football since Bent left but having not scored in six hours, it’s vital that Steve Bruce’s side get a few goals tomorrow and take advantage of a winnable tie on Wearside.

But as West Brom proved against Liverpool last week they could easily pull off a good result with a new manager in charge. It’s a really tough game to call – especially considering the erratic form of both sides – but I’d imagine most of this panel can see a home win. Let’s hope we get it, because it’s long overdue.

Prediction: Sunderland 2 West Brom 1
