Sunderland AFC have responded to the #DonaldOut social media campaign co-ordinated by supporters groups.

The statement confirmed Sunderland’s board had ‘no option but to sell the club’ after fan pressure and that ‘owing to confidentiality agreements’ there will be no further updates on the matter. Many Black Cats fans took to social media to react to the statement, with opinion split on chairman Stewart Donald.
