ALAN Pardew says Newcastle United’s injury crisis has reached the “critical” stage.

Pardew is sweating on a number of players ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Burnley at Turf Moor.

United’s manager will also be without suspended midfielders Jack Colback and Moussa Sissoko, while the game has come too soon for captain Fabricio Coloccini.

Goalkeeper Tim Krul, meanwhile, is out until next month with an ankle problem.

And Pardew says the “spine” of his team is missing.

“It’s critical, I would say, in terms of the spine of the team – no Tim, no Coloccini, no Moussa, no Jack.

“But we’ve been in this position on this winning run before, and we’ve won.

“The squad has got good strength, so I hold no fear of going to Burnley.

“They’ve done terrificially well, in fact over the last three games they’ve got a better points total than us.

“We respect them, but we don’t fear them. We know they’ll be gunning for us and we need to be ready.”
