Sunderland Sunday League: Washington Arms outgun Teal Farm to clinch Fourth Division title

Star man Mark Philliskirk ran the show and also found the net, while Lewis McGeoch hit another two excellent strikes to inspired Arms.

Teal Farm kept busy and found the net twice, thanks to Dan Thompson’s double, but Arms finished their season in style and further goals from Martin Thompson and Terrell secured the league and cup double.

Redhouse Last Orders finished their impressive First Division season with another win, with Port of Call put to the sword 2-0.

Last Orders finished in third place courtesy of goals from Gav Quinn and Paul Stokoe. Kyran Whitehead starred for Port.

A typical end of season clash saw Jolly Potters embarrassed by Sunderland Railway Club, shipping 11 goals.

It was names out of the hat for Potters and it showed as Railway found the net with ease, with seven different scorers.

Gary Tyzack and star man Josh Tuckwell both hit braces, while Dean Smith scored his usual hat-trick.

Single strikes from Dan Tough, Jordan Ridley, Dan Callaghan and Thomas Tansey finished the rout.

Ryan Bussey and Paul Webster hit Potters’ consolations.

Ashbrooke Hendon’s season fizzled out with another defeat, as youthful New Town made easy work of them in a 4-1 win.

Micky Gilby hit Hendon’s sole goal, but New Town took control when Nick Thompson hit the net twice.

The Townies made sure of victory when Mark Mhlanga and Sean Collard fired past keeper Paul Laws. Marc Eggleston shone for Hendon.

Kings Arms finished their season on a high with their recent Jay McLaren Memorial trophy win and a last-game 5-2 Third Division success at Washington New Tavern.

Doubles from Shaun Barras and Stephen Dixon set the Kingsmen on their way before Mark Wallis and Matthew Teasdale responded.

Dan Padget increased Kings Arms’ lead. Kings had Antony Gair sent off, while David Corrigan saw red for Tavern.
