Tow Law Town turned on the style to keep neighbours Crook Town deep in trouble at the wrong end of the Ebac Northern League Second Division table last night.

Crook remain just two points clear of the bottom three after succumbing to a 5-0 defeat at the Millfield Ground.

The Lawyers, in 11th place, went ahead after 13 minutes, when recent signing Matty Moffat headed past goalkeeper Niall Harrison.

Four minutes later, it was 2-0, with Jordan Lee on target.

Early in the second half, Moffat scored his second to make it 3-0 after 49 minutes, and he completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute.

Adam Nicholls put the icing on the cake with a fifth goal.

Billingham Synthonia moved level with second-top neighbours Stockton Town after beating Thornaby 2-0.

After a goalless first half, Macauley Langstaff opened the scoring with a direct free-kick on 48 minutes, beating goalkeeper Daniel Bowman.

Langstaff scored his second of the game, from close range 20 minutes from time, to ensure three crucial promotion points.

Synners stayed third, and are now only three points adrift of leaders Team Northumbria.

Shildon have signed West Auckland striker Adam Burnicle.
