Supporters have not been allowed inside the stadium since February 29 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the Premier League is working towards an October return for a partial opening of stadiums, and 2,500 Brighton and Hove Albion fans were allowed inside the Amex Stadium for a friendly against Chelsea on Saturday.

And the Daily Mail report that Newcastle have “sounded out” corporate box holders about a reduced-capacity return on October 3 for the home game against Burnley. The boxes were used to house media when the Premier League restarted in June.

Some season-ticket holders could also be allowed back inside the stadium next month. It’s reported that around 17,000 supporters could soon be able to attend games at St James's Park.
