STEVEN Taylor is confident he’s finally back to his best at Newcastle United, writes MILES STARFORTH.
Taylor and defensive partner Fabricio Coloccini have been outstanding in the club’s opening three Premier League games.
And the 26-year-old’s return to form and fitness after an injury-ravaged two seasons is timely.
Next up for Taylor and his team-mates are QPR– and their former midfielder Joey Barton – at Loftus Road on Monday night.
“I’m just happy to be playing – the more games you play, the more confident you get,” Taylor said.
“Last season was frustrating, but I got a little run at the end of the season. Now I’ve had a few games in pre-season, and some great results. We’ve got to build on that now and keep it going.
“It’s down to a lot of hard work. The coaching staff and manager have been absolutely spot on. I’ve been working hard – that’s all I can do. I’ve got to keep going.”
